Curriculum

The graduate curriculum is a rigorous and intensive set of courses in financial economics that fosters analytical and quantitative expertise and leads to a Master of Arts in Finance. Both course and co-curricular content are designed to support program learning goals and objectives as described in the CMC catalog. The program uses a cohort design, in which students move through many of the same courses at the same time. Using cases and modules, coursework is designed partly to explore relevant ethical and organizational leadership issues. Please note that in order to keep pace with an evolving business environment, this curriculum is subject to change.

Prerequisites:

Graduate coursework is built upon a foundation of the following undergraduate courses:

  • Statistics
  • Corporate finance
  • Intermediate macroeconomics
  • Intermediate microeconomics

Students who have not completed these courses upon submission of their application may be admitted conditional upon successful completion of the coursework prior to the start of classes in August.

FIN 300: Seminar in Applied Finance
