Research interests
My research interests include the international trade in goods and services, in particular the role of economies of scale,
transport costs, and competition at the industry level; the role of firm heterogeneity, product differentiation and quality.
The economics of entrepreneurship is another research focus area: who engages in entrepreneurial activity, what determines
the success of entrepreneurial ventures, and what role do these firms play in economy-level employment and production?
More broadly, I am interested in applied microeconomics - using data to examine the behavior of individual consumers and
firms, and to assess their impact on the larger economy.
