P. Edward Haley, Director
Professor P. Edward Haley is the W.M. Keck Foundation Professor of International Strategic Studies and chairman of the International Relations Program at CMC. Previously Professor Haley served on the staffs of members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as Dean of the School of International Studies at the University of the Pacific, and as Fulbright senior specialist. His most recent books are Strategic Foreign Assistance: Civil Society in International Security (Hoover Institution Press, 2006), and Strategies of Dominance: The Misdirections of U.S. Foreign Policy (Woodrow Wilson Center/Johns Hopkins University Press, 2006)
 
Kirsti Zitar, Program and Research Coordinator
Kirsti is a 1997 alumna of Claremont McKenna College where she graduated with a degree in Human Biology-Anthropology.  Following graduation, Kirsti worked in the biotech industry in Seattle before returning to Claremont in 2000 to join the inaugural class at Keck Graduate Institute.  She finished her M.B.S. degree in 2002 and joined a local start-up biotech company in Upland where she worked in business development, marketing, product development, and human relations.  In 2009, Kirsti returned to her alma mater as the Program Coordinator for the Berger Institute for Work, Family, and Children.  She transitioned to the Center for Human Rights Leadership in September 2011.  Kirsti lives in Claremont with her husband and three children.

Student Research Assistants
Bojana Bozic '14, Research Assistant
Bojana is a sophomore at CMC dual majoring in International Relations and Religious Studies.  She was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina but currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Bojana has been involved with the Center since her freshman year, participating in the task force groups, summer internship program, and currently as a research assistant.
   
Melissa Carlson '13, Research Assistant
Melissa Carlson is double majoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics and International Relations. Her study interests include Arabic, political legitimacy, and modernization in developing countries. She has worked extensively with the Center for Global Education, and has researched for and published numerous papers with the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies. Working as the Assistant to the Director of the Arabic Program, she has also strengthened and expanded the Arabic Program's presence on campus through arranging distinguished speakers, musical groups, and other activities. In addition, she is a member of Claremont McKenna's Mock Trial Team.
 
Henry Johnson '14, Research Assistant
Henry Johnson is a CMC Junior from Portland, Oregon. He is dual majoring in History and Government. Henry is ardently interested in the history of oppressed peoples and he is thrilled to begin contributing to the Center for Human Rights Leadership. Aside from this serious interest, Henry enjoys art shows, painting, and watching older movies.
 
Tyler McBrien '14, Research Assistant
Tyler McBrien is a junior at Claremont McKenna College dual majoring in History and International Relations. He also works as a research assistant at the Center for Human Rights Leadership and serves as an editor for the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Student Research Forum. Last summer he interned for the Asante Africa Foundation in Northern Tanzania, where he conducted an evaluation of the Public Debate Program.
